People take leaves to get a break / relax / enjoy. I personally thought of taking a break to spend some time with my mom. I haven't gotten the chance to do so for quite a while. So I thought I'd give it a go. Going to Guangzhou was not a breeze. We'd take long rides to what I'd call the Fabric Land. Whole days of feeling the fabric, analyzing the texture/thickness, looking at loads of designs from checks, stripes, dotted, plain (you name it!), and watching my mother select which designs she felt would sell. I could have just backed out but personally I wouldn't trade this trip for anything. I'm only further reminded of how hardworking & loving my mom is. How she never ever got tired of working for the love of us. Her passion for these fabric/clothes give her a high she'd always tell me. You would never see her in an exhausted state. I have no idea how she does it. I find myself seated resting every few hours. She has been doing this for more than 20 years now. And since I was a kid, I've been a witness to such great passion that continues to drive her until this very day. She's the best!
After work mode, we headed for some enjoyment. We witnessed all these beautiful city lights in Guangzhou and I just can't imagine how advanced the city has turned into after just a few years!!! This was such a de-stressing 1.5 hour boat ride. Mom have been wanting me to see this & guess what, I finally did! I highly recommend the experience! :)

Amidst the luscious greens of the jungle, sharing with you some natural treasures found at the Kinabalu Park! =)
My cousin and brother thought of taking me to witness Anvaya Cove as a birthday present. Guess what, they really gave me that roadtrip one Sunday which was indeed such a great sight to see! Thanks guys! You rock! :)
I looked forward to this week wherein we finally got to be complete! Kay has been gone from Manila for 10 months already. Personally, I can't believe how fast time just zoomed by. It was a week of togetherness filled with loads of catching up and laughter. Our agenda had quite a consistent pattern which revolved around shopping, eating, watching HBO, and sleeping! Even though it was like that, I must admit it was still loads of fun. Thai food was good and affordable. I had Thai milk tea, addictive spicky snacks, pocky, and of course thousand layer crepe cakes which simply were the ultimate must feast for me! :) We got to check out something fun too or else King would be super bored. We went to Siam Ocean World for some underwater adventure. (siamoceanworld.co.th) Siam Ocean World like all quality oceanariums around the world would have the glass tunnel. They got the glass boat rides and the fish spa as well. The more unique thriller was the diving opportunity with the sharks. No assurance of course in terms of survival! Hahaha. I will let you in a secret. Did you know that if you purchased those entrance tickets as a foreigner, they will be charging you around P900++ ? This is way too high a mark up versus a Thai person purchasing the ticket. Thai person is charged P300++ !!! So don't be fooled. :) What you don't know can hurt. Hehehe. Good thing my sister can speak Thai so she was able to get us the appropriate fee. :) Whew! There were 5 of us. 900 x 5 would have been such a rip off! ;D During our first night, Kay treated us to some Thai food at Yum Tum in K Village, a little Japanese eating & shopping place. Greyhound Cafe (www.greyhoundcafe.co.th), Fuji (fuji.co.th/2009/TH/home/index.php), Coffee Beans by Dao (coffeebeans.co.th) and the Coco Curry House were the family favorites. Bangkok was always considered paradise for Shopaholics!
We got to go to a Catholic Church since we celebrated Easter Sunday there. This is the Church Kay would go to for Sunday mass. We also got to attend the Fashion Fair at the Impact Exhibition and Convention Center where Maroon 5 just performed! I thought the design and lighting were nicely done. Oh yes splashes of pink. I always found the Thai folks to be very creative. One highlight especially for King was riding the Tuk-tuk during instances wherein no taxi wanted to take us home anymore. It was a 3 wheeler motorcycle with a fancy finish that kinda resembled the jeepneys we got in Manila. It was quite fast though and I found it amazing how it was able to load all 5 of us given the little space. Well that's a glimpse of my Bangkok Trip. Hope to see my sister again soon! :)
Just a year ago, my family headed for the North to check out the Bangui Windmills which really rocked! Those white windmills served as source of electricity for Ilocos. Beaches were beautiful as well!
My brother extremely enjoyed our visit to the Science Center in Singapore. Loads of interesting stuff, activities, videos, gadgets to check out. :) For avid science fanatics, a day might not be enough. :)
I finally got to use this overnight gift certificate from winning the raffle at work last Christmas Party. At last, I won something for the first time! :) Yay! Decided to spend the weekend at the Manila Peninsula to celebrate King's Graduation / End of exams! It was a great source of relaxation for the family. Dad got unlimited spa sessions. King got his swimming delight. Mom and I just enjoyed the company of the family. I also got the chance to bring the family to Ayala Triangle by just crossing the road. Can't believe it's literally their first time! So we got to try out Bon Chon Chicken at last. It was quite good. I wouldn't mind going again.
These are pictures from a year ago. But I'm posting them. I'm dedicating this entry to 2 of my friends (J&J) heading for Toronto next month. :) I'm super HAPPY and EXCITED for THEM!!!
This was my glimpse of the majestic Niagara Falls... I hope you guys get your rainbow plus the famous Maid of the Mist Ride! Do make sure you equip yourselves with the right attire! "The high feeling just can't be explained in words. Such amazing wonder and beauty. I could still hear the water rushing down from the top."
